A humidor filled with specially aged Oliva cigars celebrates one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Whether you call it football or soccer, the FIFA World Cup kicked off in June, and Oliva Cigar Co. marked the occasion with a limited-edition humidor and a special cigar collection. The striking, polyhedral humidor is designed to resemble a football, while the cigars inside boast extra aging.
Each humidor holds 24 Oliva Serie V Melanio Double Toro cigars, measuring 6 inches with a thick 60-ring gauge. Half of the cigars are wrapped in the company’s Ecuadorian Sumatra (Natural) wrapper, and the other half feature a Mexican San Andrés (Maduro) wrapper. The remaining tobacco was grown in Nicaragua, where the cigars are also handcrafted.
The key feature of these Double Toro cigars is their additional aging. According to Oliva, the cigars included in the humidor were aged for three years after being rolled, which is a significantly longer period than the regular production lines of the Serie V Melanio series.
Each cigar is fitted with a specially stylized foot band at the bottom, indicating that it belongs to this exclusive, limited-edition release.
